How many people...
Have a Nintendo DS and plan on getting Pokemon Diamond or Pearl? I really want to get back into Pokemon this gen, but I wouldn't do it unless I knew somebody who was going to get the opposite version, for great trading action.

On papers
I really dislike writing papers, because generally, I have a topic forced upon me that I really don't care about at all. Being extremely lost in life and undecided on my major, I'm taking plenty of classes that have little real relevance to me overall, and even the classes I'm particularly interested in force bullshit upon me. For example, earlier this semester I had to analyze the rhetorical techniques used by some chick to explain why the Central Park Jogger case didn't get at the real issues surrounding New York City in the early 1990s. Do I care about her rhetorical techniques? No, not at all. Even if the case really dug into my heart, I don't care how Didion made her case. Now I'm writing a paper in which I compare two books, and their revelations of two different cultures and how they responded to other cultures. One of the books really sucked, and the other book was ok, but actually revealed a rather small amount of information on said topic. Because I have strong feelings against the topic of this paper, it has very little relevance to me personally. But, I'll still write it, and may get a good grade, even if I don't really strongly believe a lick of what I wrote. That's why papers are bullshit.
On not being at Wash U no more
I don't know what the hell I want to do next year, as far as school goes. I really, really don't like being here, and want to leave. However, it seems that most transfer applications for fall '07 are way past their due date, and my GPA here is ugly (2.97 or something like that, it's below ISU's transfer student average, and this semester is NOT going to help). And I really don't want to spend a full semester at home, working and not at college, my parents would drive me insane. In short, I'm confused, and need advice. Help.

I post on this too much.
But I thought this was worth sharing: Sony admits what the PS3 is good for.

College kids love playing with Wiis.

Key lines:
"With Wii you can get people together and occupy them with activities instead of standing around and getting into trouble, especially in an area like the Muncie area where there is really nothing to do with a small budget."
"I purchased the Wii just to have fun playing video games with friends," he said "If I wanted 16-player deathmatch I'd choose the 360. If I wanted Blu-ray discs, I'd choose the PS3. The Wii is made for one thing: fun. Just try it, and don't compare it to the other consoles, it's in an entirely different class of its own."
"The biggest three complaints people have about video games are they are violent, not communal and sedentary," Bell said, "And the Wii conflicts against all of those-most of the games are kid-oriented, and they have more E-rated games than any other consoles. Those three major criticisms are superseded by the Wii instantaneously."
I love my Wii.

Oh god, EA's out to monopolize the music industry now.

I love the idea of releasing game soundtracks in a more widespread fashion, but this still scares me.
